How can I travel to Baku?

For travel from the United States, you're in luck: flights to Baku could be a direct service! Azerbaijan Airlines offer a direct 11 hour flight to Baku from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York.

There are many other flights from the US available from a range of airlines, including Turkish Airlines, United, and Aeroflot, if travellers are willing to stop over in Moscow or Istanbul along the way. Heydar Aliyev International Airport is located about half an hour away from the city centre of Baku.

The city centre can be reached easily from the airport with the H1 public bus line. The airport express bus runs a service to the city every 30 minutes (every hour during the night), and sets off from right beside the airport's taxi rank. The airlines that cater to this airport include (but are not limited to) Azerbaijan Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Ukraine International, Ural Airlines, Lufthansa, Belavia, and Air France.

The most popular direct routes to Baku by plane are from the cities Istanbul, Moscow, Tbilisi, Kievand Ankara, and most of these routes operate at least one flight every day.
