Azerbaijan: Shuttle Transportation to and from Baku Airport

Aero Express to Baku

Nowadays, you can travel by a dedicated shuttle bus between Baku Airport and the city. This service is called Aero Express and runs 24 hours a day, every half hour during the day and every hour during the night. The final stop of the bus service is metro station 28 May in the northeast of the city centre near the main railway station of Baku (Bakı Dəmir Yolu Vağzalı). The network of Baku Metro consists of four metro lines, metro station 28 May is located in an old wonderful building and is connected to three metro lines. The most central metro stations in Baku are Sahil and Icherisheher. Travel time between Baku Airport and 28 May Street is 40 minutes, halfway the route after 20 minutes the bus makes a stop at metro station Koroğlu. Here you can change to the metro (Green Line, Red Line) and you are within walking distance of the impressive Olympic Stadium of Baku.

Tickets and BakiKART


Tickets for the Aero Express are available from the
BakiKART ticket machines at the airport and in the city (cash only), bus drivers do not sell tickets. The price for a single journey is 1.50 AZN per person, 1.30 AZN for the bus ride and 0.20 AZN for a paper BakiKART. You can add 1, 2, 3 or 4 tickets to the paper BakiKART and it is valid for 45 days. You can also buy a plastic BakiKART for 2.00 AZN and add balance/money, it is intended for passengers who regularly use the public transport in Baku. The BakiKART can be used on the bus and metro in Baku, tickets cost 1.30 for the Aero Express, 0.20 AZN for the normal bus and 0.30 AZN for the metro.
